About me:-- I'm well over 21 irl, and potential rp partners must be over 18 ooc as well just to avoid anything weird.-- I'm rather shy, anxious, and have stage-fright sometimes! I have trouble with and don't really enjoy large group rp. I'll communicate oocly if something is too much or I need to leave, so please respect this.-- I'm on MST (GMT -7), but my availability times vary. I prefer to schedule rp sessions ahead of time most of the time over spontaneity just for my sanity.About rp:-- I want to be your ooc friend! And I really prefer to be if we're going to write together, especially long-term.-- Most information contained in character profiles here is privileged knowledge for ooc/planning use only. I'm really big on ooc communication about rp, and request that I am asked before things are done to my character.-- That said I am not comfortable with writing erp, hard stop, and I don't really pair my characters off for romance unless I know you really well out of character first.

About
Despite any lazy or disinterested first-impression she might give off, Avali is a firey soul driven by desire for freedom to live her life as she wants. That wish is fueled by an even deeper desire to prove those who doubted, shunned, and abandoned her in the past wrong. She found her freedom, albeit on the tail of a series of rather unfortunate events that took her from conjury student to Ul'dahn street performer and more, and has finally come into her own in life and even considering chasing the things in life she thought beyond the reach of someone in her position.
Outwardly Avali over-projects a flirty, playful, and fun-loving personality with a love of the debauchery Ul'dah is so well known for. She uses this persona as much as drink to bury a past and personal losses she'd rather forget, but things have a way of coming back to haunt her. If something sounds like fun, she's going to be interested more likely than not. If the legality of said fun is questionable, that might make it all the more interesting.Hooks
-- "Need some entertainment?" - Avali is available for hire! She's more than willing to dance for you or offer social company for an evening, especially if food or drink she doesn't have to pay for is involved, but fair warning if you intend to try to take her home she's not going to agree to it.
-- "Well you sure look exotic." - She's been told many a time that her appearance is very striking, with her mixed Seeker and Keeper features producing a rather unique look. Maybe your character is interested in how that came to be or sees themselves in her mixed heritage. Maybe they might even take issue with it?
-- "I need healing!" -- Avali has a rudimentary understanding of Conjury magics and healing practices, equally inherited from her mother's practices in the Shroud and some time spent studying at the Conjurer's guild following the Calamity. Maybe you even think you might recognize her from her time in Gridania.

About
Eyes full of wonder, feet slaves to an insatiable wanderlust, and a bright mind craving as much knowledge as it can hold, Fehli is a bright soul. The world is big and she wants to see it all, she wants to know it all. Having come to Eorzea a few summers past, she's begun to acclimate, but her eyes still sparkle at her surroundings on a regular basis.
She's always ready and interested to talk to someone new, go somewhere she hasn't been before, or take on some wild adventure. Is it dangerous? No worries! She may be small but she is a rather skilled combatant, though she doesn't enjoy going to blows unless it's absolutely necessary.Hooks
-- "Ah, you're a scholar?" - Fehli has a very pointed interest in certain subject areas. Know anything about the rise and fall of the Allagan Empire? The Void? Mhach? Fehli probably wants to hear what you have to say.
-- "I don't have much family to speak of." - She has, or rather had a family. What she really has is a whole host of issues surrounding the idea of family, parents, and truly belonging somewhere. She's not really sure about how to make friends, either. Maybe you can help her with that.
-- "You've studied Red Magic?" - Shortly after coming to Eorzea, Fehli ran into a wandering man with a style of combat magic she was unfamiliar with. She begged him to teach her and he agreed. Maybe you have also studied the same school of magic and have something to offer or possibly even learn from her.
-- "Interesting accent you've got there." - Fehli is not from Eorzea and definitely sounds it. As such she has curiosity in the world around her and maybe a few tales of travels to tell.

-- Fehli talks a big game, but she's not the age she says she is. As such, I will not engage in anything questionable with her. If you cross the line I will break character and leave the scene, no exceptions. This is also fair warning if you're not interested in rping with a younger character for any reason; Fehli is not your cup of tea!
-- Fehli has an incredibly bonkers backstory that kind of runs the gamut a bit for lore bending. It doesn't really come up in rp unless you want it to, and I will never force it on anyone. I'm willing to discuss further ooc.
-- I am willing to and will possibly at some point be rping her as a denizen of the Source who made the jump to the First. The why/how is part of previously mentioned bonkers backstory.
-- Fehli has a manifestation of the echo in the form of precognition, though it can range from simply a vague feeling about something that might happen in the future to visions of possible events and isn't entirely reliable as it is not set in stone like visions of the past.

About
Probably one of the most abrasive people to ever work at Mealvaan's Gate, Lyra knows exactly how to do her job and is good at it. She doesn't need to be personable to complete inspections, so she doesn't try to waste time with unnecessary pleasantries. She came to Vylbrand with her mother as an adolescent and was hired to work at the Gate for her rather unique language-based echo skills, which allow her to comprehend a myriad of languages through listening and reading, regardless of any previous knowledge or lack there of.
Her life was relatively quiet (as she prefers it) and the perfect amount of lonely until one day the ship she was inspecting was overtaken by Sahagin raiders seeking sacrifices to the Lord of the Whorl. She was rescued by a party of Maelstrom and adventurers and managed to make it out with her life in tact, but her mental health suffered from the ordeal. She also gained some unique abilities as a result of witnessing the vanquishing of Leviathan, and the Maelstrom has enlisted her as a test unit in a joint operation with a Lieutenant from the Immortal Flames to see how the ancient Allagan art of summoning could be brought back into combat to benefit the Grand Companies.Hooks
-- "You're a summoner?" - Summoners don't really come a dime a dozen in Eorzea. If your character has interest in the art or is also similarly gifted, there could be things to talk about between them and Lyra. Even if its just about arcanamia and leaves out the entire subject of summoning!
-- "Storm Magus Azori, at your service." -- Part of the Maelstrom? Allied with them or one of the other grand companies? Maybe there's an interaction we could work out there!
-- "The tariff rates and laws for imports to Limsa Lominsa are set. It isn't up for debate." -- Is your character a merchant trying to bring goods into Limsa? Maybe your character is smuggling something! Despite her new Maelstrom affiliation, Lyra is still employed as a Gate assessor.

-- I realize Lyra is and has always been a bit lore-bendy, but the level 60-70 Summoner job quest story gives some plausibility to there being the potential for summoners to exist under the watch of the Grand Companies. If you don't want to deal with that aspect of her character, it is something she keeps under wraps a bit, since it is weird, and it can be avoided if you'd still like to rp with her!

About
Mhih is an alumnus of the Sharlayan Studium, and though her personality and demeanor may be a bit odd (think something like Luna Lovegood if she had a PhD) her level of expertise gained from her studies is tattooed into her skin. Her specialty lies in magical theory and practical application, with no discrimination as to what school the magic belongs to. Maybe even the more obscure the better. While her personal magical prowess lies in her native land's school of Astrology, she's studied and has a basic knowledge of spreading from Thaumaturgy to Conjury, from Red Magic to Blue Magic, and everything in between.
Though she introduces herself as a Student of Baldesion, she was away on field study when the Isle of Val disappeared from the face of Etheirys. While fortunate for her, the survivor guilt haunts her to this very day. She lost many friends, colleagues, and even a sibling to the disappearance of the island, and spent much of her time trying to figure out what had happened to it since. With Val reappearing in Othardian waters and the Warrior of Light and some of the other remaining Students of Baldesion carving a path through it, many questions have been answered and new ones raised. The one that has never ever left her mind, however: "How do I move on with my life?"Hooks
-- "Oh! I've studied that!" -- While she isn't particularly mentor material, Mhih is very knowledgeable and would love to talk theory and practice with any fellow students of magic.
-- "Ah, a fellow traveler from the motherland." -- Mhih has taken to wandering all of Hydalen in the time since the disappearance of the Isle of Val. Having someone else to share some common ground with over their homeland isn't as common as she would like it to be.

-- I'm not nearly as smart as I like to think Mhih is. If I say something dumb or outlandish (that isn't within her character) while playing her and trying to make her sound smart, I apologize in advance. I try to do my research by my brain is Swiss cheese sometimes.
-- Mhih has had the echo since her teenage years, and it manifests in the form of seeing and hearing ghosts of the past in her surroundings rather than full on visions separate from current reality.

A quiet and mild-mannered adventurer of unmentioned origin, looking for honest work
when and wherever he can come by it. Having spent his entire adult life traveling the world, from Bozja to the Azim Steppe to Hingashi and beyond, he has picked up quite a number of martial and crafting skills. If asked about his life, he will not dodge the fact that he left his home in the forests of Othard behind, but he will not simply offer up his reasoning.

RINDAHYIL DOTHARL

Wanderer // Mercenary
Still green but no less deadly for it, this Dotharli warrior wanders the world beyond her people's home in hopes to find herself among strange lands. Those of her name have always traveled beyond the Steppe to hone their strength, and now she must do so, too.

Born to a mother of Xaela-Hingashi heritage and a father native to Thavnair,
Amhei's heritage is as much a product of the merchant trade as her work and daily life.
Bright and cheerful and willing to drive a hard bargain, she isn't unhappy with her life,
but she definitely often finds herself wondering if there isn't more to it than this.

CHIYO MIYUMI

Kugane // Geomancer & Noble
The youngest daughter of a respected noble household, Chiyo can and does get away with doing whatever she wants, all on the purse strings of her family name. While she could likely get away with murder, so to speak, her designs for how to spend her time are generally of a kinder nature, if extremely frivolous at times.

ELEA IKONEN

Originally from Dalmasca, Elea's enchantment with the world outside her home combined with the war occupying her homeland eventually prompted her to set out on her own so that she might see with her own eyes the places and peoples she's only heard stories of and dreamed about.

Belonging to a tribe of those devoted to the dusk mother, Siru was chosen at a young age and groomed to take the role of one of her people's shamans throughout her life. Aiming to level and deepen her own world view before taking up the title, she has decided to go on a pilgrimage to experience the outside world.

UHLIE (JAYA-MEI)

A young mystel that reflects the night sky she and hers revere so. The First has ever been a harsh world to survive in, but since the return of night, mayhaps things will be a bit kinder. Young and not quite so set in her ways, she is eager to be able to explore the world beyond her forest home, if given the chance.

NARAN TORGUD

Azim Steppe // Ritual Dancer
Named for the sunshine reflected in her eyes, Naran came to have a matching personality as well. Her honest desire is to bring a smile to the face of others, especially if she can do so with her craft. She's often found in Reunion, seeking to sate her curiosity about other tribes and the outside world.

J'YSLHN TIA

Limsa Lominsa // "Merchant" & Former Pirate
A smarmy but charismatic merchant, J'sylvn is more of a swindler, truth be told. Born in fallen Gyr Abania, his family fled to Vylbrand's shores after the occupation and he found a way of making coin, thought the honesty of that coin varies.

KHIT POLAALI

The Black Shroud // Performer & Botanist
A starry-eyed performer with dreams of grandeur, Khit turns her tricks in the taverns of Gridania and the Black Shroud to earn her keep. Coming from a rather traditional Keeper family, they don't necessarily approve of her dreams, but she still aims to chase them.

LILISETTE MAYAKOV

Early 20s // Midlander Hyur & Wildwood Elezen // Chaotic Good // (Mateus)
Limsa Lominsa // Dancer & Rogue
A charismatic mixed-heritage dancer, Lilisette was born to a travelling performer mother but was orphaned at a young age. She owes much and more to the Dutiful Sisters and, now of age, she serves to uphold the code."What are you staring at? Have you never seen a hyur with long ears before?"

U'NHAALLA BANHI

Forgotten Springs // Matron & Former Huntress
U'nhaalla was once one of the most skilled huntresses of the U tribe, but as she's aged she's left that duty to her juniors. When her younger brother left the tribe behind, she learned the ways of the world outside to help him get a foothold. Her skills now prove useful in managing the U tribe's relationships with the rest of the world.
